Growing up each year we did this and it was the highlight of the season!!
Because I loved it so much, I just had to start the same tradition with my kids. I knew it would be a little more tricky though, but we tried our best.
The advent fairy came and told the kids we were going to be taking treats to some of our friends.... but the catch was... we were going to do it anonymously.
We explained that were going to drive to each house and then place the treat on the front porch with a note, ring the door bell and run as fast as we could back into the car (where dad would be waiting with the car running) and we would duck down as we drive away.
The kids were ecstatic at the thought!!!
We got our cozy hats on and had the treats all ready. Someone was a little sad that he did not get to hold the treat in the picture (above) so he had his turn and tried to fake a smile!
Once in the car, the excitement really started!
We pumped the kids up about running fast and ducking and covering so we did not get caught!
They ate it up!!
This little guy seemed to catch on real quick and had a BLAST too!
Ella was always the first one to run away. She was serious about not wanting to get caught!
And then the three of us quickly trailed behind as fast as we could....
It was quite the work out, but so much fun!
Dad took a turn too so he could join in on the running away fun!

Carter cracked me up the entire time. He was so in to it and seemed to have so much fun with all the excitement!
After we delivered the last of our treats, we went out for a treat ourselves!
It was so fun to see the same joy and excitement that this brought to me as a child in my children's eyes tonight. We look forward to carrying on this "ring and run" tradition with our family for years to come!
p.s. It has been so fun to see so many of you starting the Advent Fairy tradition too! It is fun to see the creative ideas everyone is coming up with! I love it!

I like the sound of 'Ring & Run' We called it Ding-Dong-Ditch-'Em. And when we did it for FHE we were the Family Night Phantom! oooooOOOoooo!

This is where city living sucks - you can't get apartment access without gaining permission for entry first AND you can't leave something on a porch.
